When it comes to dressing for work, many of us tend to go for the obvious or conventional options when it comes to both individual pieces, as well as colour schemes. This week’s theme is the complete opposite of that, as I put together a look that I think would work well for a casual Friday fashion statement (where some of you ladies get a bit more leeway!).

Since fall is the time for knits, I swapped out my go-to blazer for an oversized cardigan in pale pink. You’ll be a bit more comfy and a lot warmer in your air conditioned office. Silver is the new staple when it comes to footwear so I worked in a pair of silver pointy-toed pumps that were a departure from the typical black or nude. Up top, I stuck to a staple white blouse, but decided to go for a pair of loose-fit, loose fitting trousers in army green. This earthy colour is right on trend for fall and complemented the pink and silver pieces in my outfit.

A commonality to most of the items that I’m wearing is that they are all loosely fitted. I can’t think of a more comfortable ensemble for work than that! Oversized does not mean sloppy, but it could very easily fall into that category if you allow your shape to be completely drowned out by everything else. To prevent that from happening, I tucked in my blouse, and chose a high waisted trouser style that hit the smallest part of my waistline. The added height from the heels didn’t hurt either.
