Wedding season is well underway and if you’re late 20s early 30s your summer social calendar is invite-full. There are all types of weddings these days but they generally fall into one of four categories. While there’s differences between them, there are some general rules to keep in mind for good etiquette. Do not wear white. sounds second nature but you’d be surprised. If you’re going to a cultural wedding be sure to check what’s accepted and appropriate. Always abide by the dress code, it’s there for a reason. It’s always better to be overdressed than under at an event like this.

Here are some ideas to help you decipher what exactly to wear:

Destination Weddings: Beach weddings aren’t always super casual, if it’s a more formal event avoid shorts and dresses that resemble a beach cover-up. Otherwise, any flat sandals and a sundress is a go.

Semi-Formal Weddings: Perhaps the most popular dress code, semi-formal weddings require a cocktail dress. Heels, a clutch and jewelry can help dress up a printed or pastel choice.
