Fashion Jobs Vancouver – Warm Weather Work Wear

Style Nine to Five - Fashion Jobs in Canada

As the season changes, so does our wardrobe. Now that the frost is gone and the weather is warmer, it’s time to switch up your work wardrobe for the summer months. It can seem difficult to find pieces that will keep you cool while also being work appropriate, but it’s easier than you think. The key to finding that perfect balance is to opt for lighter and more breathable fabrics that still maintain a professional vibe. To help you out, I’ve provided a few examples below. 1

Summer Shirts

Blouses are always a great option for suitable work wear. In order to adjust to the warmer weather, look for dress shirts that have shorter sleeves or thinner fabric. The important thing to remember is that these pieces still have some form of structure to them so you can achieve that polished and professional look. For days that are a little chillier, add a thin blazer over top that you can easily shed if the weather warms up.

Dress-Up

Dresses and skirts are the perfect way to stay cool through the summer months. Always make sure the length of your skirt is office appropriate; a general rule of thumb is to aim for at least a hemline that falls around the knee. Try to stick with dresses that have a higher neckline in order to maintain a sense of professionalism at work. The midi skirt is a massive trend this season, and an awesome way to beat the heat while looking stylish too.

Cropped Trousers

I am a huge fan of the cropped trouser, as it is a very refined look that every woman should include in her work closet. I found some beautifully vibrant versions of this pant style to go with the summer vibe, but any colour will keep you from overheating this season. Add a light blouse and your favourite pair of flats for a complete look that will have you looking office ready.
