Toronto Fashion Jobs – Cozy Wool

Year after year, we’ve seen different trends dominating the runways: lace, leather, prints and colours, in one minute and out the other. But when the temperature drops to a bone chilling degree, we can be sure that one thing is consistent, the undeniable coziness of wool garments. This natural material has been the staple of warmth and comfort for years. Many people don’t believe that wool could translate into the world of high fashion, a theory which recently has been proven wrong by a sudden push for the natural fiber endorsed by royals and designers alike. Last summer, during London fashion week, Prince Charles an advocate for Campaign for wool was quoted saying “It [campaign for wool] is to explain the benefits of this wonderful natural fiber and raise awareness” adding that not using wool is “a waste valuable renewable project.” This call was clearly heard as the Fall/Winter 2012 collections from Chanel, Marc Jacobs and Chloe, just to name a few, debuted featuring wool clothing.
